The Technical information is partitioned similar to the Mods section purposefully, to provide background information regarding the various aspects of the circuit designs behind the mods. An informed customer is better able to make decisions and properly frame their expectations regarding mod'ing their amp.
There is much very informative information available on the internet today regarding Tube Amplification circuits, so I will not try to revise what is already good, rather, you will find much of this linked herein for your convenience, with annotated notes where appropriate.
Keep Checking Back as I continue to update information as I accumulate together the mass of information that I utilize and refer to, and as time permits to evolve this site.
Since the simple gain stages comprise most of the circuitry in the amplifier they obviously affect the overall character of the sound of the amp. It is not only the number of stages, but how they are connected, and how they are designed that makes the largest differences between most amplifiers.
It is not just the design of the tone stack that makes the difference, but the placement of the tone stack within the gains stage lineup as well.
